These are member only events where we get together and share ideas while running trains. Hosted by current members, held weather permitting, at homes throughout the Club. A great chance to get gardening tips and ideas for your own projects at home.
Held in May, the Spring Banquet is the kick off of our Garden Railroading season. Door prizes, presentations of projects, a buffet meal, and lots of conversation about our hobby with fellow members. Great time to schedule upcoming summer events.
At least once a year, we get together publicly to socialize and meet new members. Past events included a Chili Feed at a local museum and a picnic in a park. 2020 we hope to meet in August to ride trains in Hudson, WI at the St. Croix Valley Train Club and picnic.
Every new member is given one free name badge to wear to events. Additional buttons can be purchased for $5 each.
Debuting in January 2020, meeting in free library rooms, this winter time event was popular. Free to members, we provided light refreshments while several senior members shared information. Talks and demonstrations about trestle building, remote controls, and battery versus track power, were the topics followed by Q&A after each speaker. Hope to hold these at least twice a year in the winter months covering various topics and speakers.
Every month, even in the winter months, you will receive an email with the Monthly Newsletter. It will contain articles of interest contributed by members, photos, list of train events in the area, items for sale, and much more.
MGRS is a great resource for connecting to people with knowledge to share. We can answer your questions on garden railroading and/or post your questions in the Newsletter. We will connect you with people who can advise and help you in many areas.
Dues are only $20 per year for your entire family. Newsletters can be sent to each family member as well. The MGRS Connection Events are free of charge and the Banquet and Special Events are held at discounted prices for all family members in the membership.
