It all started in 1999 after Dick's retirement: Development of a two-loop railroad with no specific era intended. Within two years it expanded into three loops with the third loop extending into, and through, a grove of Hydrangeas. That didn’t last for long (3 yrs) as it got to be uncertain if the train would return.
The layout consists of four major towns and businesses. Towns: Smidgen River, Bloomstone, Fox Run and See Saw. Businesses: Single Handed Sawmill, Deer Born Lodge, Triangle Lumber and Trax Brewing.
Annette has been responsible for the “fauna and flora” within the railroad and the rest of the yard. Last year Dick & Annette reduced the layout down to two loops. Goal was less work, more enjoyment.
